The renewal may be done within the six months before expiry. In failing this deadline, the request may be submitted within a further period of six months from the last day of the month in which the protection ends conditional to the payment of an additional fee. Protection period of a registered trademark is ten years from the date of filing and it is renewable for periods of ten years in Turkey.
In the case of failure of renewal, the Turkish Patent Institute shall refuse another identical or similar trademark application covering identical or similar goods or services where an objection is raised in the period of two years. For this reason, this period of two years is considered as a priority right for the trademark holders to re-file their expired trademark by filing a new trademark application in Turkey.
